I have a different utility calculation as a function of having a different personality

1. Life is good but not great
2. It offers diminishing marginal satisfaction
3. Takes a lot of your best time to add marginal meh time
4. There are more interesting ways to spend time, energy and resources than generating more time

1. Life is great
2. Let's have 2x more of it
3. Prediction that at the end of your 2x, you'll probably have the same opinion and will want to extend again, etc
4. May as well figure out how to live as long as we want, you can always euthanasia later if you change your mind

Which step in the argument confuses you?

it’s a modeling of extend X years -> tired Y years and imagining Y << X

It’s always struck me as a form of spiritual stuntedness.
