Not sure quite where I’m going with this, but roughly trying to model ideology as the interior direction of your position in relation to the unstucking pareto. Ideology *is* stuckness to first order. The diagram suggests that if you reach the frontier on any point, you’ll be ideologically compromised, ie stuck, along all points. Then the only way to get unstuck will be to move the entire frontier out somehow which likely requires an external shock. Obviously, by construction, once on the frontier there’s no way to increase both short-term and long-term unstucking potential. Also I’m declaring unstucking a word.

would you say taking LSD, or similar activity, is a way to move the frontier without having to do the heavy lifting of moving the actual frontier? and when you snap back the frontier seems to have shifted away from you without having to get stuck in the short-term and long-term? or remaining unstuckened.

Someone I used to listen to said anything you do to get unstuck just adds to the stuckness. The recommendation for when stuck was “drink highballs and shoot poker chips off the back fence” until inspiration strikes. This was from someone who ate a lot of acid. So highballs>acid?
