A positive aspect of farcaster being rooted in financialized crypto culture is that there is more willingness here to talk about statistics and quantitative analysis on *other* topics like politics, which I appreciate. Could be a big strength if discourse broadens. Most sites are default innumerate, vibes-only.

I would love it if this place developed a broadly wonky culture where people make a habit of citing, questioning, and debating noisy real world numbers on all topics. Also appreciate the interest in prediction markets though that’s too gamified for me to participate in personally.

Bluesky is refined empaths. A bunch of Lt Trois. Farcaster could be a bunch of Commander Datas. Empaths will always outnumber quants 10:1 but when a quant discourse lands a punch it tends to hit 10x harder.

Twitter of course is just internet of beefs and theater. Fediverse is isolationist mutual admiration.
