Wondering whether it depends on the industry / domain. If there is a lot of competition, perhaps there is a knob to tune between going burn-fast without market research, or burn anyway but slowly and higher chance to avoid patent trolls, etc.

probably the same amount although usually lot of tech founder led start ups kind of tack it on, spend may be 30-50%
