The single biggest driver of my quality of life is whether or not I get an hour or two of outdoor sunlight time. It’s upstream of everything, even sleep quality. And definitely well upstream of diet and exercise.

Agreed, but given where we live, I've found this to be the second best thing: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0BYN6WLYK Bonus: when I turn it on in the (dark) morning, from the street it looks like there's an alien ship that's landed in the house, as the windows literally "shine white" 🛸

i've noticed 4 hours of sleep doesn't impact me as poorly if it's a sunny day, whereas it would be an immediate -20 motivation on a dreary day

Same here, man. I wake up and consistently feel ‘off’ until I lift, shower, and go for a walk. It’s become almost drug-like and I’m probably not getting enough rest because of it. Haha.

One of the best parts of being on paternity leave is carrier naps; almost once a day, she gets a nap and I get a 45min+ walk outside
