Extended universes ranking 1. Star Wars 2. Star Trek 3. MCU 4. Fast and Furious 5. Monsterverse LOTR, Dune, are large monoliths not EUs Harry Potter is a monolith with satellites Technically the top 3 are a class apart since the have epic arcs with lore infills

Kinda amazing that despite the massive visibility and success, people still don’t appreciate how big an advance EUs are over mere linear sequels as a narrative art. EUs are the Gutenberg press of film, and illuminated manuscript scribes like Scorsese will fundamentally never get it because they’re calligraphers.

Not exactly this but Breaking Bad has Better Call Saul which takes it in that direction. Needs more content in that universe though but it's a start.

Dungeons and Dragons is another one. There are many stories in that world but it hasn't made it much into tv/movie medium. Mainly games, comics, kids stories and novels.
