Today in neuroethics, I learned that the basal ganglia - which is in charge of initiating and smoothing out motor activities like standing up and walking and just generally doing physical things - runs on dopamine.

So if your brain is short on dopamine, it literally can't run the function that makes you move.

this blew my brain yesterday and I can’t stop thinking about it. 

to know there’s a physical connection between inertia and dopamine? 

all of the guilt I’ve experienced over this situation. and it’s because my brain shorts me dopamine.
