elon musk obviously finds it hard to gauge when something is based. ironically being perceived as based is the one thing he wants that he can't buy despite his numerous failed attempts e.g. - paying people to boost his gaming credentials - pandering to edgy 4chan humor - other weird stuff like accepting $doge at tesla
