@deodad and @horsefacts.eth are making Farcaster more hackable. Cast actions is a proposal to add custom action buttons to your cast action bar. When a user clicks on them, your server will get a signed callback. What would you use this for? If we find enough creative use cases, we'll ship this asap.

If you guys haven't already looked at this, please consider message shortcuts that 3rd Slack Apps can add to a message's context menu: https://api.slack.com/interactivity/shortcuts As a developer of Slacks apps, I can vouch for the value here...

I must say @v that @jtgi is the man to go with this one, he has been talking about this feature since last week. I personally would love to have a sort of 'apps' place or inventory, where I can manage what that specific button does with a specific 'app', let's say for /degen I have the 'app' tip $DEGEN and so on

“Subscribe on Paragraph” would be awesome Or even “view newsletter”, eg an onramp into a users long form content

two that i think would be cool are: - one click to turn a thread into a @neynar frame - one click to duplicate a cast's frame in @neynar frame studio!

Repost this cast to predetermined channels Then I could have a group-curated channel of casts we like

We would use it to - Tip quality public survey responses - Tag people as “definitely human” for our back-end realness algo But my honest opinion is this feels too arcane; we’re meme’ing about the action bar feeling overwhelming, and then adding infinite more actions.

- one tap version of Seemore thread frame - superfollow action - support custom actions for creators (sub, mint, initiate other) - save as inspo (bookmark with the intent to leverage for an action later in a separate workflow) - probably the closest thing to making me think about creator token utility ngl

Mmm, will probably fall short of usage like frames because not everyone is a dev.

as a channel admin I would implement a set of emoji as custom actions to empower users to vote on issues or questions posed in a cast

- tipping in whatever token - create a bounty - save to alternative bookmark system like @unjumble - fact check/eli5 (quick ai agent that uses internet) - create community note (others can dispute) - turn into meme on bonding curve (yoyo.meme) - create onchain attestation/save in arweave

amazing. some ideas: warn and hide in automod ban in automod tip [amount] degen via @degentip tip [amount] degen via Airdrop alloc. send to channel add AI gen art, akin to @edit upvote/ downvote, ranking thing some kinda reputational thing, like what @depatchedmode made
