Quite a few questions about "is my data encrypted? or "are hubs private"" Casts, like, follows are not encrypted and likely won't ever be. This is a public social network and the expectation is that this data is open to everyone. Direct messages are also not encrypted but they will be in the future. This is a private message between people or groups of people and the expectation is that the data is not open.

I'm sure you've answered this elsewhere, but how do you feel about xmtp as a protocol for DMs?

If dms are not encrypted, doesn’t that give room for possible data leak?

do you foresee any ability to have a gated channel that could be private? I know this can be accomplished in dcs, but would rather have a better ui experience…

If one were to build a service to encrypt DMs, would that be copacetic with the tos?

Concerned about the security of not getting e2e encryption for direct casts Glad it's something in plan
