OK so the problem is not the idea of a tapback, its that you must express your emotions as ONEOF {heart, thumbsup, thumbsdown, HAHA, !!, ?} where the creative freedom? i want the unhinged astral plane emoji options

ooo if anything is max cringe, itโ€™s this cast ๐Ÿ™ˆ tapbacks are choose your own adventure: direct and efficient (๐Ÿ‘) or chaotic and ambiguous (โ€ผ๏ธ). also a thumbs up tapback > โ€œkโ€ text response. always.

also "what does it mean if he 'loved' my text?" walked so that "what does it mean if he watched my ig story?" could run

They are the best thing ever? Instead of choosing between a full text and a ghost you can give a thumbs up this is peak human ingenuity

with text, they add dimension to an already flowing dialogue and that is elevating. however, on their own give a dismissive/ nonreciprocal vibe. itโ€™s fine for power games but detrimental for cultivating real connection. when a response is just* a tapback there is a part of you that retreats or stays guarded.

Cool kids value low effort versus actual expression. Makes them fit in more and be socially normal. Cringe is actually more about standing out

Today years old when I learned they are called Tapbacks not reactions. But I do know they cause as much anxiety to the cool kids as the word okay.
