Some of you got verification emails from Warpcast today. Your account is safe and this was not a phishing attack. Warpcast was not compromised. But you should always: 1. Check that emails and links come from farcaster.xyz or warpcast.com 2. Never share your recovery phrase on any web site.

What happened? Someone tried to sign up for accounts using known emails from data breaches. You can check if your email has been in such a breach on https://haveibeenpwned.com/ The goal is likely to figure out which emails already have Warpcast accounts.

A friend wants to create a new Warpcast account now (he hasn't been on FC before), but he can't. He's getting a 500 error from my invite link. What is the best alternative to create an FC account?

I was pretty sure that it was a scam, although it looked legitimate

"This was not a phishing attack" sounds like you have sent it, but I guess it is indeed an attack?
