Kind of crazy that average time British dads spent with kids in the 60s is close to zero

Agree with dwr. Seems sus. Likely because only a limited number of categories might get recorded and more informal stuff wouldn’t and survey data likely inconsistent across countries. Might be something in it though. Interesting comparison to be made with availability of childcare. Probably the reason why Denmark so low: childcare is cheap, everyone works, less time with kids

Very interesting. Not sure what to make out of this, other than parents tend to spend more time with their kids today. Is this better or worst? Is it the same type of time?

It is encouraging to see that both spend more time with their kids. That's a good sign. I don't know what's going on with France.

To everyone asking what's up with France... Do you really just discover that women's place is not in the kitchen and caring for the kids, and that men are not forced to work and come back home just to sit in front of a diner? We are in 2024! Wow, now I'm the one surprised...

It seems more educated they are, the more regular their schedule is, and then more time they have with their kids.

That's very interesting indeed. Could you point me to a link where I can find more context? Searched those exact words in Our World In Data and couldn't find anything...
