Kind of crazy that average time British dads spent with kids in the 60s is close to zero

It is encouraging to see that both spend more time with their kids. That's a good sign. I don't know what's going on with France.

Seeing this chart really hits home for me. While my father left when I was a year old and didn't pay child support, leaving my mom to work multiple jobs to get by, I don't recall my friends' parents—especially their dads—spending much time with their kids either, let alone playing with them. It seems like that was just the way things were back then. But now, as a father in the 2010s and 2020s, I've made it a priority to be there for my child in a way that wasn’t as common when I was young. I’ve spent countless hours playing, laughing, and just being present. It’s amazing to see how much has changed over the years, and I’m grateful to be part of this shift toward being more involved and engaged as a dad.

It seems more educated they are, the more regular their schedule is, and then more time they have with their kids.

I like to focus on the countries where the dads’ and moms’ lines are closing in on each other over time. 🫶🏽

🇫🇷My country is in decline at this level; what a sadness. Many think about work and their careers, while I try to do the opposite to see my three children grow.
