Verify your X account You can now connect a X (Twitter) account on Warpcast and it will show up on your profile. We’re going to experiment with using this as a signal to give users more reach on the app. Should be rolling out to all users now.

can we connect once to verify ownership then revoke the token or does this need to be an ongoing permission?

we only ask for read permissions so we hope most people feel comfortable keeping it around. if you revoke it, it will still show up on your profile today. not sure if we will keep that behavior in the future, may need periodic re-verifications.

(I appreciate the restricted set of permissions, but I like to purge app tokens and I'm likely not the only one in the space)

we won't take it off your profile. but we will give algorithmic weighting to accounts that have other valid socials like X connected especially if they have followers or an old account. there might be a way to game it by inflating follow counts, connecting your account and disconnecting it before your account gets flagged by twitter. so we probably won't give algorithmic weighting to accounts that disconnect the verification, but i have to think more on it.
