Inspired by @danielmason @danigrant  and the writing of @nascent, we spent time this week discussing topics like web proofs, the unreliability of agents, our flexible load sub thesis, and whether Claude might be the enterprise super app... 🧵

2/ Web Proofs: Web Proofs, or zkTLS, are zero-knowledge proofs for web2 data that can authenticate information between a client and server without revealing the data itself. This technology could change how trust and data integrity are managed online, especially in the context of value-transfer and payments.

3/ Simple Developer Tools: Our best-performing developer tools have been simple ones. Twilio was ~5 API calls in its infancy. Some of us felt the complexity of current tools might be a barrier, suggesting we should prioritize simplicity in our investments though we question whether simplicity is even possible when handling so many complex personal data streams.

4/ Where Can You Trust an Agent? We talked a lot about instances where we might trust an autonomous agent given their current reliability. Unsubscribing from customer service doom loops was at the top of the list. Otherwise, we might be more comfortable with assistants and copilots for the foreseeable future.

5/ Claude as the Business Super App: We discussed the efficiencies gained by some of our companies simply by using Claude projects. Meeting follow ups, emails, CSS, and thought partnership were some of the items listed. Of course, relying on Claude requires a comfort with a lot of copying and pasting.

1/ The Flexible Load Sub Thesis: A variety of our climate investments are positioned as grid assets that can perform energy intensive tasks using excess renewable offloads. As electrification creates more strain on the grid, we like businesses that can take advantage of the overproduction from renewable sources.
