Pleasure to be here. Highest signal to noise connections I’ve made in quite some time on FC! Also follow @rgoldoni at RH Foundation, and @joycesticks co-founder of ResearchHub. Lots of infrastructural issues in science we hope to improve. Fixing system of science —> step-wise improvement in science.

Can you expand on this. I only did undergrad in math and physics, and carry a deep curiosity about the natural world. Ultimately decided academic research wasn’t for me. @aviationdoctor.eth is probably more familiar with how academic science actually works. Would be curious to hear your spiel on what’s wrong.

Absolutely, TL;DR The science stack is comprised of 1) funding 2) experimentation 3) publication/peer review and 4) science communication 1) Funding turnaround speeds are ~1 year from starting a grant to receiving funds 2) No great 21st century coordination/collab tools to streamline collaboration
