Watching these old Donahue clips (RIP) and once again depressed about how far our speech has devolved over the last 25 years or so. Even the biggest crackpots and lunatics sound articulate and well spoken compared to so-called thought leaders today.

This isn't a Thiel subcast but listening to that Rogan interview, man could barely cobble a sentence together. What's going on here?

Part of it was probably he was being very careful what he was saying. 

There are several instances where he clearly restarts and completely changes the sentence and the framing.
