So this how I’d have explained it to her since the best thing she was familiar with is a market place 
I’ll go this way grandma you know how you go to market and buy things then bring it home to sell 
We all know that markets belong to someone,so Web3 in this case let’s assume it’s that market but you can also be a part of the owner amongst many owners 
You’ll get to do different activities there and meet people selling and buying and you can even go as far as making new products of your choice to also offer to people 
But there’s a place(could be one biggg blank wall) where everyone involved activities will be recorded to keep tracks of the market and keep the market going.
