This would be incredible. Honestly, even Farcaster + XMTP to compete with Telegram would be good enough. I would capitalize on the extremely odd choices the whole Ton / Telegram made to wall garden their ecosystem and attract everyone to a better alternative. How come @dwr.eth or @v never engage with @shanemac.eth publicly ?

Yes, this is a great example of how a conversational UI fails badly.

This is taken out of context. They’re not taking the savings, they’re trying to attract private investment most likely via bonds.

no, thank you! this is exactly the type of reply I was hoping for! I guess I was trying to find a parallel to PoS networks. But now that I think about it, sanctions are kind of mimicking the slashing part. And they're definitely not an effective deterrent.

That's the beauty of those networks, on the one hand you can perform the biggest heist in history and launder the proceeds with a tumbler, but on the other, your on-chain footprint will be there forever to haunt your reputation. I don't think anyone should get away with this, hence why I alluded to having skin in the game.

One man’s problems are another man’s greatest asset. Ethereum (and other blockchains) is a network where adversaries such as US and North Korea can operate at the same time. This is a feature not a bug. Taking this a step further, alliances and treaties should involve skin in the game: ie you stake a percentage of your federal reserves to guarantee you will keep your promise (weather this is a military alliance or any time of state level agreements) if you don’t, you lose your stake and tank your economy.

I know that secp256r1 comes with its baggage but I’ve always wondered where we would be with adoption if blockchains started supporting it natively. All of a sudden everyone with a Yubikey, modern mobile phone etc, would have a first class wallet. Very cool to see you guys use that curve!

The best cue I received on benches was to retract shoulder blades completely at the top position. This almost requires a partner to hand off the barbell so you can keep that retracted position. Do that and you’ll not only eliminate all shoulder pain but you’ll also be able to press more. That’s one of the reasons you see power lifters arch their back.

Ethereum consensus is a great example. From what I understand one of the hardest problems to solve was the fair and random selection of block proposers. That’s both efficient (ie no bottlenecks on decision time) and collective.

Yes, I was thinking about the ideal free market capitalism where competition doesn’t lead to monopolies. Are you trying to argue some sort of horseshoe theory for capitalism and communism at the extremes ? I could see that with those machines / ubi parameters

This is where I stand as well, it takes a certain type of character to amass massive wealth and I think contrary to what @dwr.eth just commented below, it's much more likely for a wealthy person to grift. I'm excluding time around the French Revolution when people were a lot more moral :)

I think this is the effect of capitalism. In a free market you wouldn’t have a select companies or machines owning all the capital right ?
