What is your theory on why 99% of podcasts are saying the same things?

Because podcasts rely on popularity to get views. This causes them to ride the "hype train." They want to hit all the current, trending topics of the day and maybe a bit more. But in the meantime they come off as copycats. You see this with YT channels as well.
