Wondering to what extent stories are a trap.

We love stories. We love recounting the ones we’ve heard. We love the one about us that give us a place, in life, in society, in history.

Are they true? Can they be true in a world that in essence is all about nature?

The instinctive beauty captured in a photograph through composition and contrast will resonate with a viewer. Yet it’s the story that we need to make it fit in to some concept of the world that we created somewhere in our mind.

And what about therapy? Are the stories we seek a labyrinth without exit that keep us going round and round, distracting us from any vagal approach?

Stories are a way of passing history down to future generations. Sure, they get "enriched" along the way. But a good portion of the stories we've heard (or seen) as children carry their intended message at their core. Some become legends. But you know what they say about legends, right? There is a grain of truth in all of them.

Can photographs lie? Sure! Can they be "bend" to fit a certain narrative. Of course! But not every time. Not all of them.

There can be no heroes of tomorrow without ancient legends. There is no future without an old story.
