religious beliefs in technology, crypto, etc are some of the most nefarious 

they’re often rooted in an good, value-oriented impulse, but once enough ppl to form an in group believe the thing and want to memetically signal their belief/choice to others, things get irrational/stupid quick

A big part of navigating ct and (to a growing extent) fc is reading between the lines of religions 

even the case in some larger private groups I’m in; feels like something that’s just inevitable when you have a group of a certain size of technologists signaling to each other
