The Minecraft community is banding together to make a fan-made animated movie where members submit ideas and work for each step of the production pipeline and vote on what makes the cut.

Kind of seems like a DAO, except we’re talking about a massive player base and a sprawling, well-established cottage industry of fan-made spin-offs, parodies and creative content.

Will be very interesting to see how this coordination effort plays out and whether the end result will be better received than Mojang’s official “A Minecraft Movie”.
