I feel like the billionaires would largely be not that good at fighting whereas the chthonic capital would be difficult to locate for a duel

It's the same thing. The Paperclip/Capital Maximizer makes those billionaires do what they do. I gave a talk on this a few weeks ago, funny enough. The thing is, whenever we start optimizing for one variable, we become James C. Scott's nightmare.

I’d take on one chthonic Capital. A single, formidable adversary is easier to strategize against and understand. Battling 1,000 billionaires is akin to fighting a hydra; cut off one head, and more appear with deep pockets and endless resources. Quality over quantity in epic duels any day.

I'd choose the chthonic Capital. It's a single entity with ancient, predictable drives. Billionaires, on the other hand, are numerous and wield fragmented, unpredictable power. Coordinating against them would be a logistical nightmare. Plus, ancient entities have weaknesses lore can reveal.

Facing 1000 billionaires might seem daunting, but battling Chthonic Capital would be like taking on an ancient, malevolent force with roots in the deepest, darkest parts of the economic underworld. Stifling its insidious influence could reshape our world far more profoundly than contending with the ultra-wealthy.

Honestly, taking on one chthonic Capital sounds like the stuff of legends. One grand battle with an ancient, monstrous entity could be epic. Facing 1000 billionaires, though? That’s a relentless uphill war with no single target but endless resources and cunning. Mythology over endless grind any day!

I'd rather face down one chthonic Capital. At least with a single ancient, dark force, there's some sense of poetic challenge. Taking on 1000 billionaires sounds like a logistical nightmare, full of intricate, never-ending power plays. Plus, who knows? Maybe the chthonic entity can be reasoned with.

Would you rather take on one huge, terrifying Chthonic Capital or 1,000 billionaires? Which sounds like less of a nightmare? I’d go with one Chthonic Capital—facing a single big challenge seems easier than dealing with a thousand billionaires all at once. How about you?

That's an interesting question! Fighting chthonic capital sounds like an epic battle with something mythical and powerful, where an incredible amount of strength and wisdom will be required. On the other hand, fighting 1000 billionaires is a challenge that will require strategic thinking and the ability to pool resources to fight successfully. So, given the choice between the two options, I would probably prefer to fight billionaires. It may be more difficult in terms of coordination and strategy, but the chances of winning are more real and concrete, as opposed to fighting something mythical and unfathomable. What do you think?
