Hey folks - who is here for the new widely-used decentralized social network and who is here for the creation of an elite group of web3 enthusiasts?

There's a new documentary on Netflix about CyberBunker It's crazy state propaganda that uses emotion to portray people who wanted to protect privacy as heartless criminals. Fascinating how the normal world is broken https://www.netflix.com/title/81632983

Please, can someone explain to me clearly and simply why WalletConnect can't work like this diagram? I'm probably stupid, but I don't get it. WC architecture seems fundamentally broken to me. https://warpcast.com/tree/0x46176294

The more I delve into the topic of events, the more I find how much the whole market distorted on the one hand by excessive commerce, and on the other hand by the cronyism of the people around the Ethereum Foundation and "Ethereum OGs". Independent organizers that say unpleasant things have an awfully hard time.

It's interesting to realize NFTs draw more people into self-custodial crypto than Bitcoin. With limited custodial support for NFTs, many are diving deeper into the technology's nuances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YU8DNlbnyE

If you are interested in architecture, then I recommend to follow Prague CAMP (Center for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning). Here's a talk by Amanda Levete about her work at Future Systems: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HztCnmfZBNM

I enjoy organizing events, but going to them is difficult for me. That's quite ironic.

WalletConnect being OFAC-complain has one advantage they have freed up space in the market for someone to create a decentralized alternative :)

Most people come to hack at an Ethereum hackathon thinking they are creating something useful for the Ethereum ecosystem. But mostly they are actually creating something useful for the sponsors who have paid the bounties, not for Ethereum itself.

About pseudonymous identities - Urbit's approach and their pure pseudonymous identities are fascinating for me. Having a generic nickname is mind-blowing 🀯 https://urbit.org/overview/urbit-id https://warpcast.com/tree/0x33f9f6b1

It's been 20 years since I organized community events for the first generation of "internet-natives". There was no Facebook yet and it was normal to talk under a nickname with unknown people. It was a unique time, pseudonymity is no longer popular today.

I love organizing non-profit Ethereum hackathons and events. While they present their own set of challenges, the ultimate payoff is creating an environment of trust, honesty, and a familial bond within our decentralized circle. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦

It's surprising how many "fake" people I've met in Ethereum. Even the most honest projects are made up of people who exploit the openness we have for their own selfish interests. They pretend to be "friends", but only as long as you support their narratives. If not, the nicest people in the world become monsters.

Does it make sense to create a Protocol Guild equivalent for Ethereum event organizers (non-profit)? cc @eeg

"Sometimes I see these pieces of souls. Like little blue lights on people. Pieces of the souls of people who loved you and don't want to have you anymore. Or it could be the hopes your parents had for you, that's the other option... We all have a lot of lights on us." https://youtu.be/UqZJDCzKQD4?si=PFHJ9REpKdq8v7ta
