I think one of the growing pains crypto is going through is the need to actually be legit.

In the past it was ok to only focus on the future and what was possible.

It let people live in this kind of fantasy world where real stats and proximity to culture didn’t matter.

Now projects have to stand behind what they’ve shipped and make that compelling to net new people.

The struggle is that you can’t fake it anymore and people can see right through when something is off or half baked.

Very few projects that can confidently stand out in the absence of a bull market and get real people to think what they’re doing is cool.

Founders trying to prove that they mean to do a particular thing(s) instead of just starting and going forward with the “We’ll see how it goes mentality?”

Or needing to know people are actually real.
