i like WalletConnect, but the token seems forced "WCT plays a key role within the WalletConnect Network, helping to fuel UX innovation across web3 and enable a more usable onchain landscape" reading the key functions, it's everything but helping to fuel UX innovation. it's basically the same as every token 'utility' we've seen in last years, and it hasn't worked. another DAO? no thanks.

we have significantly improved the way onchain content is created and consumed since the last cycle, but i don't see people talking about how much it can shape digital cultures anymore last cycle, everyone talked about how huge and important it was to own a punk, a bayc, a squiggle, etc.. and how those would define our onchain identities. but i don't see much activity from those communities in shaping our digital experiences since then, and maybe that's because it was all about pricing

we used to join social media apps because our friends were there, but now, using the farcaster social graph, wherever i connect, i'll have my friends. maybe we won't have one or two big apps, but instead more niche apps that unlock different experiences

these kinds of initiatives are what bring people together, all working toward the same goal and staying committed. we've seen it in the examples ted talked about in the article, and also in @higherathletics commitment clubs could be the onboarding experience new people have onchain: - their own identity, portable everywhere, earning rewards if they stay committed pursuing a higher self, together

i finally had time to dig into the new update with channels. to build a culture around a channel, it's a good idea to focus on a membership approach permission-based cozy corners make sense: - you need an invite to cast, but it's open to everyone to read. you could filter invites by someone's onchain activity - today, for every piece of content, you need to think about which channel (hashtag) to cast it in. after this, you'll mainly cast on the home feed, while more conversation-oriented casts will go into channels you're part of - it kinda solves our issue with DCs. it's easier to interact with messages in a channel
