I'd like to be able to easily select and copy text from casts on Android. I can do it when I'm replying to someone, but not when I'm just looking at a cast.

YES! This is my most frequent annoyance with the app.

A doodler and computerer. I like permissive/permissionless open source, smart contracts, p2p systems, room-scale VR, and NixOS.

You can also copy the link to the cast, open it in a browser, then copy the text there. All the workarounds are absurd, but at least there are some options.

+1, sometimes I'll make a mistake in a cast and want to copypasta so I can delete/recast, and I can't do it and it's super annoying.

(That said the on-screen Google Lens transcribing works well so it's a decent hacky workaround.)

THIS - Why is this even not a thing the app has to forcibly do to disable text selection.
