I did exactly that but using tldraw instead of excalidraw and on different chain (for a hackathon). Might check Zora bc my idea didn’t get traction on the hack :(

My approach was to go through rust book, but not all of it. Read ownership, lifetimes, strings and slices chapters. And then go ahead and implement something from codecrafters.io returning back to the book when needed. Should work, esp considering your background 👌

Wrote my first open-sourced lib in Rust. It’s super-tiny and only thing it does is allows you to verify ethereum or Solana-signed messages. Even got couple of downloads already 😅 https://crates.io/crates/signature-verifier
