anyone else tape their mouth before they go to bed?

Started doing this ~6 months ago. Main benefit for me is not waking up with a dry mouth. Even on nights I don't tape, my breathing when asleep has been retrained for the most part and still get the benefits.

If it is, then that probably means it's a symptom of deeper health or lifestyle issues. Bc if forced mouth breathing was a huge opportunity for humankind, we surely would have selected for it across evolution.

Mouth breathing makes sense if you’re in a fight/flight situation and you need that extra capacity. While resting, it probably is less useful, since it can lead to “over breathing” This book explains it: https://www.dylanwerneryoga.com/the-illuminated-breath
