Had an experience recently where one interface for a dapp did not work, and I was able to extract funds by switching to a different interface, and if even that had failed there were other workarounds like monkeying around with etherscan's "write contract" feature.

Decentralization and openness are amazing.

This is the literal other side of the sword of people who get their funds irretrievably bricked or stolen. 

Wish we were promoting these positive stories more!

Just spoke to my bank, permission less is so much better, but requires more responsibility

We’re just not used to being that responsible about about our own assets / data to appreciate the freedom and security that come with it. There’s a crazy dependency on platforms to take care of our existence there. 

Hence you hear those stories way more often. They also happen that much more often. 😓
