Here’s a pro Base argument I believe:

1. Layer 2s let dapps abstract away the weirdness of crypto (gas sponsorship etc)

2. Base as a Layer 2 can help mainstream dapps succeed by providing: running start on distribution to CB users; on/off ramp ux; wallet ux; etc

3. Success of dapps on Base —> growth of CB users

This is exactly how I see it :)

People forget that in crypto most ecosystems will start off looking very speculative or focused on 1 use-case - I mean, even BTC's main use-case for a while was using it to buy drugs.

There's nothing wrong with speculation as long as it leads to more sustainable use-cases over time.

The userbase argument is pretty good

CB had 100m+ users in 2022, compared to 11m+ users on Polygon in the same year
