Can one be physically addicted to work? During a recent 1-wk vacation to a wonderful, my body felt very "off" for a most of the time. Now back to intense working, I feel physically great. Has my body formed hormonal rhythms that are optimized around working intense, long hours? And upon deviations...withdrawals??

It’s the internet. You’re addicted to the internet. You just happen to be at work while you’re using it.

I was thinking a similar thing about relaxation, and the idea that relaxation is not about having nothing to do, but doing things at a pace you enjoy or are used to

I've struggled going on vacations in the past couple years. Find it very hard to disconnect -- and not because anyone is making me stay online, I just like it here lol. But also --I've wondered what impact the dopamine hits have.

You must take lots of pride in what you do because you derive a high amount of dopamine from work. Feeling down bad whilst not at work is similar to your average person taking a full break from social media. This can be viewed in one of two ways, from how I see it: You need hobbies outside of work or it is a blessing and allows you to grind that much harder. Thoughts?

We are creatures of habit. Maybe it’s less addicted to work and more used to the routine of work. But isn’t it nice that the break now makes you feel great about being back in your routine? Welcome back.

Absolutely And sometimes your brain has adapted to a certain routine, so much that when you are absent from it, you feel like you’re going through a withdrawal It’s the same mechanism, basically. Oh and it involves physical health, I’m definitely gonna have an opinion lol. Do you get enough rest? Cus it seems like you work long hours alot

My big unc is addicted to work and counting money. What's his hobby and what does he do on weekends? Go to his office, alone in the whole building, just recounting his finance for the nth time. Always the number 1 person to appear before everyone else.
