It reminded me of the quote: "You can't control what happens to you, but you can control how you react to them."
Why do some react with negative emotions and responses while others positive?
I'm a hub, so I respond differently depending on the situation.
I think environment and experience are big factors. I realized that I didn't learn two important things: 1) how to deal with grief and 2) how to fail. Both deal with loss.
1) I was fortunate. I didn't have any loved ones pass away growing up. But, because of that, I also never experienced real grief. When two of the most important people in my life died, I didn't know how to process it.
2) Being an overachiever and perfectionist, everything was planned. I was on a controlled path. Long story short, I burned out, hard. Then, I felt completely lost.
Sports teams take each loss as a learning experience for the next game(s).
For builders: How can we create a positive culture that embraces failure? Or, dare I say, encourages failure. Fail fast and a lot. 0 reply
