Watched it. Super reasonable take to me tbh. Citizens should have legal right over what happens to their data and a general protective law in the states is overdue and could fix a bunch of issues. Ppl could still opt out to sell their data then.

really? But considering that Trump and Russia potentially interfered in the last election, shouldn‘t it be a bipartisan issue that interference is kept at a minimum? Besides, arguing for data protection towards their TikTok using/producing voters seems unfavorable too. Seems party politics: Dems against big tech

i actually think they are very competent and realize that most of their voter base consumes and earns from tiktok and this is an easy way to score votes

it does come at the expense of national security, but i'm sure their mental gymnastics regimen is strong enough to vault around that
