You have to go back to when GG was teaching MIT blockchain courses to find him saying nice things about ETH

Trying out nixOS for first time this weekend. First few levels, simple enough. Like a package.json on steroids. …and then you try to build a rust project that has a specified toolchain

Oh no.... my financial advisers are shilling a Mont Blanc event to flog some luxury watches. If that isn't a local top signal, I don't know what is 😬

The Lex interview with him was really something else. Wonderfully eloquent but completely understandable. Can’t stomach bankless content but I’ll take you word for it he gave a good pod.

Illuminating podcast from Forward Guidance recently about the absolute degeneracy of the private credit markets. Crypto seems positively tame and sober by comparison… we have much to learn 👺 https://youtu.be/56keSKDiyJ0?si=mstzdYGiDfWrNXY6

I’m pumped about btc rollups, if only to encourage more natively supported cryptographic primitives on mainnet. Citrea is great for bringing the hype and attention, whilst not being too weird to be widely understood (looking at you DLC link). Even then it’s still only a humble optimistic roll up.

The gold standard of Bitcoin L2’s is: do something on L2 => (eventually) something is updated on L1 as a Push. Vanishingly few actually do this, and many will tell you this is impossible. Many of the drive and side chains will instead rely on a bridge mechanism to honour withdrawals on a pull basis.

This book is an absolute banger, must read for any neophyte. That said, the front cover is such a strange choice. Fine, programming books tend to have abstract graphics but the O’Reilly animals are charming compared to this mook.

Nah, Nic and Matt give a tradfi perspective that many lack. Not just from VC investing but market dynamics in general, that go beyond the LARP most CT engages in. In terms of knowledge you’ll get more from a specialist than a general communicator. Didn’t realise this would be such a contentious take 😅

My view is that ETH ETFs will happen, and we will see an influx of ETH purchases from the modest -> robust range. However, my point is that daily gwei has zero insight to give. He’s just a dude who wants number to go up. Not technical, not financially literate, not civil. Does little for a person to listen to him.

Sassal’s edge is that he likes ETH because he has a lot of it. There’s very little insight to be had from listening to him.

Listening to @gwart's interview with Sol's anatoly was pretty lol Solana's origin story was how his arb bots kept losing money on IBRK due to the house advantage. Fast forward a few years and he builds a network with FTX primitives that does the same. Is it too much to ask for a Frost/Nixon interview with that guy

GM I'd love to see a Frost/Nixon interview where a podcaster manages to get aeyakovenko to show some contrition for his sins. Instead what we get is "Non mea culpa!" staccato'd with little chuckles. That would be nice.
