drinkcaster: looking for mid-range scotch recommendations for someone who mostly likes bourbon but sometimes wants to mix it up 🥃 👀

I like the peaty ones, but if you’re coming over from bourbon you might like the highland scotches (Highland Park) or the Japanese ones (Hibiki)

Super smoky if you’re into that

+1 for Oban 12-year. Such an easy drinker.

Auchentoshan 12 year old

The Three Wood is also very good but I wouldn’t call it mid-range.

Oban 12 or Lagavullin 16 are my favs as someone who will often pick a bourbon.

Ardbeg 10yr Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 🥃

I'm partial to Lagavulin 16. It pleases everyone. Caol Ila 12 is also one of my favorites.
