I’ve been finding Airbnb to be getting worse and worse over the past three years. It can’t suggest good places for me, it’s harder to find filters and saved locations, and it’s full of garbage “experiences” that I don’t give af about. I used to be 100% Airbnb and now I’ve just finished travelling through like 8 countries and three continents and I only stayed in 1 Airbnb the whole time. Everything else was hotels.

The actual best feature of Airbnb over the past several years is just that they show you the actual nighty price (including cleaning fees etc) now, and that was thanks to Biden. https://time.com/6254113/what-are-junk-fees-biden-ban/

Same experience for me, a few years back it was 100% airbnb but this year I also went on a travel spree and maybe used it 2 times out of like 6-8

It’s both the prices and the lack of good vibes that are making me avoid it. Like when I see a hotel at the same price and the Airbnb is just an IKEA filled dorm room with no turndown service why would I choose it? The only upside at that point is access to cooler neighborhoods. That said, there are the occasional gems. I really like Airbnb for like cottages and cabins.

that's actually where they're going for I think, if you want to head out of the city and select a cabin with a grill etc.
