Well that’s a shame. Can’t say I’m surprised though. Appealing to old-school conservatives, many of whom are tactical enough to vote Trump to get what they want signed into law, or racist enough to not elect even their most favourable candidate in the form of a person of colour; was such a stupid strategy. To think, if Kamala had pushed more progressive, she would have almost certainly won. Shame.

I’ve not been reading any of the wall street journal or browsing facebook feeds so I don’t get how electing trump can make things worse except for the folks invested into democrat corrupted orgs

The heritage foundation’s mandate for leadership, which Trump is expected to implement (as Reagan did) is pretty dark, undemocratic, theocratic stuff. Vance is into dark, undemocratic, theocratic stuff. Trump stated he wants to enact mass deportation day one via the same law that was used to intern Japanese-American citizens during world war 2. During the protests during covid he used the military to sweep up protestors in unmarked vehicles, most notably in Portland. He wants to enact tariffs that people across the economic spectrum agree will tank the US economy. And like last time when he was in power, it’s expected that people will feel emboldened to commit heinous acts in allegiance to his ideals. He is the closest leader in modern history to Mussolini’s politics, and proudly promotes white supremacist nationalism. So I think it’s going to be a real shame to have him in power. Note, I also don’t use Facebook and largely avoid mainstream media. I think you might have just tuned out entirely

Big empire like that is doomed anyway, some of these his solutions are not addressing the core of the problem, and most of things and laws are inherited, along with economy and everything that comes with those - without ability to change things fundamentally. But it’s also just words now, as far as I can tell he’s got smarter people around him who actually qualify to do a better job now and we’ll see if they will perform any better. There’s always someone, something that goes bad in a country no matter how good you are as a government But for this one I’m pretty optimistic for the things we can build during next 4 years given ease on regulatory pressure and opportunities that could be opened for onchain products
