New default “who can message me” setting: Followers + Recommended We’ve seen an uptick in spam, so we’re moving everyone who is currently on Everyone to Followers + Recommended. Our goal with Recommended is to maximize good users who can send you a message. If you are Only Followers, you’re unchanged.

“People I follow” is a very good option as well. And maybe instead of Followers plus recommended, “followers plus mutuals” where the mutuals are people your follows follow? Is this how “recommended” is determined currently? Or is it based on accounts with highest total followers?
