"educating yourself" is by definition a failed project. Education requires dialectic, contradiction, being exposed to what you didnt know exist. idk how can you do all that by just sitting behind a computer...

You don't know how you can do that behind a computer? Really? Even students at public schools were able to learn behind a computer during COVID. So has anyone who has ever taken a course online or gotten a degree online, or just taught themselves curriculum online on their own. People have been educating themselves since the dawn of the written word it's just easier with a computer. How many people have taught themselves how to code through watching YouTube videos and experimentation, or taught themselves foreign languages? History? Just because you didn't go to a school doesn't mean you can't be "exposed to what you didn't know existed". Are you claiming you can't learn the Socratic method online? I know many people want to think they are smarter than everyone because they spent a lot of money on a degree, but plenty of people are just as educated and they did it all on their own. Some professions are not well suited to self education but many are.

I think you're misrepresenting my view, or maybe I didnt express it clearly. I'm not saying you can't use online learning as part of a cursus. However, I am saying that you can't get yourself a proper education, from 0 to 100, by being by yourself, learning behind a computer. I'm not talking about acquiring a skill, like learning how to dev. Sure you can do that. I'm talking about an education, as in, instructing someone, building up an autonomous citizen. Sure, you can learn about the socratic method online. But how do you know it even exists? By searching? But if you don't know it exists, what are you searching for?
