I stripped all my tools back to the basics. Apple notes. Reminders. Safari. Pages. And Safari’s reading list as my read later app. No more complicated setups. No PKM tools. Just a handful of apps that come with my laptop and get updated once a year. The result? My productivity and output have soared. Productivity tool optimisation is a distraction.

I like the concept, but my version is with all open source apps that respect my privacy (apple is better for privacy than Google but I'm picky). For example, I love standard notes pro because I can have E2E encrypted cloud syncing of all my notes, checklists, spreadsheets, photos, and files in one app with automated encrypted backups. They are versatile but don't try to add so many features that I get distracted, and I don't have to trust them. Personally I just don't want to ever entrust all my notes to Apple, Google, or Microsoft.
