Why does crypto not have more consumer apps?

Because it currently does not solve many problems for consumers.

Crypto has strong consumer product-market fit with speculative use cases. This is because it’s a) potential to make money quickly b) entertainment.

The way to grow the number of consumers in crypto is increase the amount of entertainment in crypto apps. Consumers have unlimited demand for novel entertainment.

In other words, it’s because the web2 alternatives are “too good”.

The web2 world often can’t see past the speculative/scammy side of crypto and think that’s all there is to it. Blockchain could be a valid alternative to so many web2 problems, ‘crypto’ holds it back.
