Noticing that crypto hostile people are thrown off balance when you neither evangelize or defend crypto but simply move on with “fine let’s talk about something else.”

I don’t have high hopes that this posture will spread but I think it’s genuinely the best one now. When you make it your whole identity as some seem to, people naturally want to accept or reject you as a whole person based on it.

I like this as it defuses any potential tension and people are impressed that you don't feel the need to dig your heals in. 
I think the same approach would be good for other heated and often polarised subjects.
