I wore a continuous glucose monitor for 2 weeks that allowed me to observe my glycaemic response to different foods, stressors and exercise in realtime. I’m not a (pre)diabetic. This was very insightful and I was a bit sad to pull it off after 2 weeks.

High intensity exercise (anaerobic) creates a massive glucose peak (through gluconeogenesis), but it’s of the good type because it increases insulin sensitivity for a long period after the exercise. You basically help to create a large reservoir in the skeletal muscle to drive glucose into after meals.

This can basically combat (pre)disbetes. We know from research that prediabetics can reverse their course of disease by a few sessions of strength training/anaerobic training.

Interestingly this also seemed to cause some short hypoglycemic events during my sleep.
