In 2013, my friend Alex was an early adopter of Bitcoin. Back then, it was mostly a curiosity, something tech enthusiasts tinkered with. Alex mined Bitcoin on his modest gaming PC, accumulating a few hundred coins. He'd joke about how someday he'd buy a Lambo with his digital stash. Fast forward to 2017, Bitcoin's value skyrocketed. Alex, ever the pragmatist, sold half his holdings when the price hit $10,000 per coin. One evening, over coffee, he pulled up in a brand-new Tesla. "No Lambo," he laughed, "but it'll do."
