Facebook and Threads are going wild with the Walz memes. What little bit I've checked TikTok, it's starting there, too. Democrats are unusually good at marketing the campaign this year.

Her voting record in Congress hints at being more progressive on most issues than people realize. She's closer to Sanders and Warren on that than to Biden. Her law enforcement record absolutely concerns me, but she's the only option we've got at this point, cuz Trump is just bad for everyone, even the people who think he'll be good to them.

I think it's what everyone was calling for. The pressure for Biden to step down was immense. And part of voting in the presidential election is knowing that the VP is the one who is going to take over if the president steps down. If Biden hadn't been running for re-election, she would have been the obvious Democratic front runner, they'd have pushed her over all candidates and bulldozed her through the primaries like they always do. Would it be nice if we could redo the primary? Sure. But I don't think that's a practical expectation given the current state of affairs and inefficiencies in the voting process.

It's an unprecedented situation. Everyone is just winging it at this point. If they did, somehow, pull off another primary, there would be pushback against that, too.

It doesn't look like this one will even really be contested though. She's garnered support *rapidly*. I was more talking about Biden stepping down just before the convention being the unprecedented bit, but thanks for the link! Off to read!

Got it! It's going to be interesting to see what this convention is like. Obviously, Kamala is going to be the candidate. But the pre-convention energy is already more excited than I've seen Democrats in *ages*. Not really since Obama. Certainly couldn't get this much going for Hillary.
