Meta is shifting to AI.  

The metaverse was a sad replacement for reality, not an enhancement to it.

AI means a solo creator can do the work of a team, making it a reality enhancer.  

Yeah, there's bad stuff about it - but a lot of the complaints are rooted more in misunderstanding the technology and copyright law (which I have fundamental issues with anyway).  

But every tool can be used as a weapon, that doesn't mean we stop building and using new tools.
