"DarkCoin" was published on September 8, 2017. By that time, DarkCoin had already rebranded as Dash in an effort to become a more legitimate peer-to-peer currency. The comic's title pays homage to DarkCoin’s shady past.

The joke revolves around Bitcoin and DarkCoin no longer being part of the Dark Web, leaving them with nothing in common anymore. This mirrors real life, where friendships built on partying can feel empty once alcohol and drugs are no longer in the picture.

Notably, this comic also marks the first-ever appearance of Dogecoin in the series.
