appreciation

Took a break from casting.  Lost my Step-Dad.  Finally back to settling into life and have some appreciation to share.

I'm appreciative for timing.  Sure it varies for everyone, but I tend to fixate on instances of bad timing.  For now I am focused on the good timing.  

I was in town visiting for the first time in a couple years with my family. While there my Step-Dad has his final heart attack. I was numb to it, mostly thinking he would recover again.  He didn't.  

What I appreciate is the timing of coming when I did, along my family.  We had a great few days before the day he had the heart attack.  We conversed, he played with my sons, we ate dinner, and enjoyed our time.  Not one bad or awkward moment.

Now that he is gone, I'm focusing on being thankful of the time I chose to visit, and the experiences that both he and I were able to have right before his death.
